These Terms govern access to kailabs.eu, the Customer Area, contact and quote requests, reviews and NFC keyring management.
1. Identification and contact
The website is operated under the name KAI Labs, located in Recarei, Porto, Portugal.
- General contact: labs@kaistores.com
- Account support: support@kaistores.com
2. Current website status
The website presents KAI Labs, its services, projects and ways to get in touch. Users may create an account, recover access, update basic details and manage associated NFC keyrings.
The Shop is closed. The current public journey does not provide a cart, checkout, orders, saved delivery addresses, payment methods or online payments. Browsing the website or creating an account does not create a purchase.
3. KAI Labs account
Users must provide a valid email, choose a secure password, accept these Terms and confirm that they have read the Privacy and Cookies Policy. Information must be accurate and credentials must remain confidential. Unauthorised access should be reported immediately.
The account is personal and may be limited or closed where necessary because of abuse, security risk, a breach of these Terms or a legal obligation. Account closure and data deletion may be requested at labs@kaistores.com, subject to legally required retention.
4. Contact and quote requests
Submitting a form does not require KAI Labs to accept a project and does not itself create an order or payment obligation. KAI Labs assesses feasibility, may request clarification and, where appropriate, sends an individual proposal describing the work, specifications, price and taxes, payment, production, delivery, validity and applicable conditions. A contract is formed only after express acceptance of that proposal in a durable medium and fulfilment of any stated initial conditions.
KAI Labs may decline unlawful, unsafe, technically unfeasible or rights-infringing requests.
5. Files and intellectual property
By submitting files, images, marks, designs or references, the customer confirms that they may use them and authorise the reproduction needed for assessment and performance. A limited, non-exclusive and temporary licence is granted for that purpose. Submission does not transfer ownership. Unless agreed otherwise, each party retains pre-existing rights and KAI Labs retains rights in methods, content, models or solutions it creates independently.
When requesting a custom project, the customer warrants that they hold all rights, licences and authorisations needed to reproduce any images, trade marks, logos, designs or concepts they provide. KAI Labs acts as a manufacturing and customisation service provider following the customer’s instructions and does not acquire or verify ownership of those materials.
To the extent permitted by law, the customer is responsible for claims and consequences arising exclusively from the use of materials or instructions they supplied without the necessary authorisation. This rule does not exclude KAI Labs’ own liability, limit mandatory rights, or apply where KAI Labs knows, or should reasonably know, that the request is unlawful.
6. Specifications and intended use
The customer must disclose measurements, tolerances, fit, loads, temperature, exposure, intended use and critical requirements. 3D printing and laser processes may have layer marks and small dimensional, colour or finish variations inherent to the agreed material and process.
Prototypes and personalised parts are not automatically certified for medical, food, electrical, structural, child-safety, personal-protection or other critical uses. Such a purpose must be disclosed before quoting and depends on written confirmation and applicable law.
7. Price, payment, production and delivery
There is no online sale or payment on the current website. The binding price, VAT, delivery, schedule and payment method are those in the accepted proposal. Later changes may alter price and timing and require renewed confirmation.
8. Conformity and legal guarantees
Goods and services must match the agreement, disclosed purpose and applicable law. Personalisation does not remove rights concerning lack of conformity. Where Portuguese consumer conformity rules apply, mandatory remedies and periods remain fully available.
9. Withdrawal
Where a consumer enters a distance contract covered by a right of withdrawal, the general period is 14 days. The right may not apply to goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised, without affecting conformity rights.
If the consumer expressly requests that a service begin during the withdrawal period, proportionate payment and, after full performance under the statutory conditions, loss of that right may apply. The individual proposal will explain the applicable rule before acceptance. Where the right exists, an unambiguous statement may be sent to labs@kaistores.com.
10. Reviews
Users must not submit unlawful, misleading, offensive, discriminatory, defamatory, privacy-invasive or rights-infringing content. Reviews are moderated and not all submissions must be published. Consent to publish the chosen name, rating, review and optional photo may be withdrawn for the future by contacting labs@kaistores.com.
11. NFC keyrings
An eligible keyring may be associated with an account and configured to open a URL selected by its owner. The owner must keep the destination lawful, safe and current. KAI Labs may suspend redirection for security, abuse, legal obligations or breach of these Terms. Scan statistics show total scans and the last scan date and do not guarantee that each scan represents a different person.
12. Availability and security
Maintenance, security work or technical failure may interrupt the service. KAI Labs seeks to restore it with reasonable care but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability. External links are provided for convenience and destination services have their own terms.
13. Personal data
Personal data processing is explained in the Privacy and Cookies Policy. That Policy provides information and is not treated as general consent for processing needed for an account, contact or quote.
14. Complaints and disputes
For assistance or complaints, contact labs@kaistores.com. Where applicable, consumers may use the Portuguese Electronic Complaints Book.
The competent Alternative Dispute Resolution entity will be confirmed and identified before a public contractual proposal is offered to consumers. The official list is available from the Portuguese Consumer Portal.
15. Governing law and changes
Portuguese law applies without limiting mandatory consumer protections. Courts are determined by law without imposing a forum that removes mandatory procedural rights. These Terms may change for legal, technical or operational reasons. The version applicable to a contract is the one supplied or accepted when that contract is formed together with the individual proposal.
